Charles S. Brown, MD, FAAP

Dr. Brown is the founder of Newton-Wellesley Family Pediatrics who has been in practice for 35 years. A board certified pediatrician, he graduated from Tufts Medical School in 1979 and completed his residency training at Children's Hospital, San Francisco in 1983. He was named one of Boston magazine’s Top Docs™ in Pediatrics in 2017, 2018, 2019 and most recently in 2020. Dr. Brown is the father of six grown children and 2 grandchildren. Dr. Brown is passionate about the Newton-Wellesley community and loves to kayak, travel and cross-country ski in his spare time. His practice is open for new pediatric patients of all ages.

Cally Gwon, MD, FAAP, IBCLC

B.A. Dartmouth College '93, M.D. Dartmouth Medical School '97, Residency: Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center Combined Program '00. Dr. Gwon is a board-certified pediatrician who was raised in the Boston-area. After graduating from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School, she completed her pediatric residency at the Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center Combined Program. She holds a long-time appointment as a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the practice in 2004, Dr. Gwon became an international board-certified Lactation Consultant and became a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Breastfeeding. In addition to her special expertise in lactation, she also has an interest in childhood asthma, food allergies, and sports medicine. She is dedicated to providing the best pediatric care for her patients and loves caring for children of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. Gwon is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, and holds clinical appointments with Boston Children's Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Boston Medical Center. She is passionate about athletics and was a two-sport captain in soccer and ice hockey at Phillips Exeter Academy. She went on to play Division 1 soccer for Dartmouth College were she won an Ivy League Championship. Dr. Gwon is married to a pediatrician and is a proud mother of her son and daughter. She enjoys watching and coaching her kids sports teams over the years. In addition to playing ice hockey, tennis, she also loves biking, visiting national parks, attending events, snorkeling, skiing and walking her black lab. Dr. Gwon's practice is open for pediatric patients of all ages.

Steven Greer, MD, FAAP
​
Dr. Greer is board-certified in both General Pediatrics and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and joined Newton-Wellesley Pediatrics in April 2012. Dr. Greer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the Tufts Floating Hospital for Children in 1986. He completed a fellowship in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston City Hospital in 1989. Prior to joining NWFP, Dr. Greer has practiced primary care pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics in a neighborhood health center as well as in private practice in Milford, Massachusetts and Newton, Massachusetts. In the field of developmental-behavioral pediatrics, Dr. Greer's interests and expertise include developmental delay, school difficulties (including ADD and ADHD), anxiety and family issues. Dr. Greer lives in Newton and has two exceptional children. Dr. Greer is also fluent in Spanish. His practice is open for pediatric patients of all ages.

Julia Brown, MD
​
Dr. Brown joined Newton-Wellesley Family Pediatrics in September 2019. She received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her pediatric residency training at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University in New York City, where she excelled as a mentor and researcher for which she received the Distinguished Abstract in Clinical Science of Eczema Action Plans. Prior to joining NWFP, Dr. Brown worked as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. At Mount Sinai she held the role of a primary care pediatrician as well as devoting time to pediatric resident and medical student education. Dr. Brown is immensely passionate about athletics and the outdoors. She was a dual collegiate athlete, having played soccer and lacrosse and has an affinity for sports medicine. Her practice is open for pediatric patients of all ages.
